‘Tis the Season to…Simplify???

Surprised by the word at the end of the above title?  You probably expected to see something like, “to…be jolly.”  Am I right?  Well, on this week’s edition of my audio blog, I share my perspective on how simplifying, especially at this time of year, can be just what you need to bring you into a more jolly state.  It’s really not about doing more; it’s about deciding what is meaningful for you and your family and creating that.  The simplicity comes from creating something meaningful, and leaving out all the rest of the stuff.

My hunch is that you already have enough on your plate right now; there’s really no need to add more and more, to make things more complicated than is needed.  I am hereby giving you permission to keep it simple.

Be Well Wednesday: Schedule in Some Recovery Time

On today’s installment of my audio blog, I explore the role of recovery time in our lives and why it is so important in our fast-paced and 24/7 culture.  I also share my perspective on why so many of us don’t give ourselves permission to have these much-needed recovery periods.  You can listen below, or click here to download the episode onto your MP3 player.

Just as our cars need an oil change, more gas, and some attention after a long trip, we as human beings need downtime on a regular basis in order to function at our best.

Really take a close look at your schedule for the next few weeks.  Where could you start plugging in some recovery time?  What activities or events do you have coming up that will require a great deal of your time and energy?  Right now, on your calendar, schedule in some recovery periods after these so that you can renew your body and your spirit.

We’re not the Energizer Bunny.  Create the space for you to honor your needs.  Your body will thank you.  And those around you will really notice the difference.
