Energy Boost: 5 More Tips for Getting the Sleep You Need
In addition to increasing your energy level, getting enough sleep on a regular basis is crucial for keeping your immune system functioning in high gear. Now that we are in the cold and flu season, this becomes even more important.
To help you improve the quality of your sleep, I have included 5 tips below that you can start implementing today:
1. Get some daily moderate exercise. Even a 20-30 minute walk can improve sleep. (Note: Complete any vigorous exercise at least 3 hours before bedtime.)
2. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day, even on weekends.
3. Keep your bedroom a bit on the cool side, quiet, dark, and un-cluttered.
4. Develop a routine that lets your body know that bedtime is approaching.
5. Use your bed for sleeping and intimacy; no laptop, tv watching, eating, etc.
If you’re not already practicing the tips above, please give them a try. Let me know what changes you experience. Also, do you have any additional tips to add? Leave a comment below to share them.
