Encouraging Health Series: Wellness Includes Attending to All Aspects of Who You Are
In this next interview in the Encouraging Health Series, I have the opportunity to introduce you to Natalie Hjelsvold. Natalie shares with us a lot of great tips for getting back in touch with your own self-care, as well as reconnecting with the parts of you that may have gotten lost along the way. I especially appreciate the tips that Natalie shares in response to question #6. Enjoy!
1. What is the name of your business, and what do you offer?
Vivacious Vixens Passion Parties. An in-home party experience of Adult Sensual Products. The opportunity to find your Inner Vixen and get her out from under the piles of laundry and bills!
2. Is there a specific group of people that you serve through your work?
I work with women over the age of 18 who are interested in exploring the different products available to them in the adult sensual products arena. I share information, tips and tricks on how to spice up the relationship you are in, with or without a partner. I share detailed information on how to introduce sensual products into the bedroom. I provide an evening of entertainment and laughter, showing women that their sexuality should be
celebrated and they should be the foremost expert on what they enjoy and what they would like more of.
3. What are some of the health challenges that you see in women/women entrepreneurs today?
Women are so busy taking care of business…Family business, work business, friends business, life business that they rarely take time to care for their own business. They are focused on ensuring everyone around them is well cared for, fed, bathed and snuggled in, they don’t stop to make sure those things are a daily activity for themselves. Women are in desperate need to reconnect, both with their partner and themselves. Laughter has lost its
place in our lives and I am here to show them that laughter in the bedroom is the starting place of a healthy relationship, with everything.
Be Well Wednesday: Creating a Morning Ritual
What are your mornings currently like? Do you often find yourself rushing around, stressed out, feeling irritated, impatient, and wiped out…before your day even really gets started?
If you can identify with any of this negative energy, creating a morning ritual that nurtures you and sets the stage for a more responsive approach to the day, rather than operating from reaction mode, might be just what you need!
Tune in below, or download this week’s audio blog to your MP3 player by clicking here.
During the episode, I share something that I recite each morning (and sometimes at different points throughout the day). I discovered it in the January/February 2010 edition of “Body + Soul” magazine. Here it is:
May I feel protected and safe
May I feel contented and pleased
May my physical body support me with strength
May my life unfold smoothly with ease
It really is a wonderful way for me to start my day, to reconnect with myself first thing, before life gets going and gets crazy.
Do you currently have a morning ritual? Leave a comment and share what it is. If not, and you would like to create one, what are you drawn to put into practice?
A Healthier You: The Incredible Power and Amazing Benefits of “Vitamin” D
Vitamin D deficiency has really become an epidemic, and I’ve talked about the importance of Vitamin D both here on my blog as well as on my audio blog on Blog Talk Radio. If you’re not currently taking a vitamin D supplement, I would highly encourage you to start taking one right away. It’s very inexpensive, but the results can really be quite amazing (be sure to read the article below for a list of health conditions that a lack of vitamin D is connected with).
To further reinforce the importance of vitamin D, I wanted to share with you another article that outlines the benefits of vitamin D and also shares some surprising and perhaps even controversial perspectives. The article is written by Rose Cole, from http://www.WellnessWithRose.com, and I really admire all of the work that Rose is doing. She has an extensive background in holistic health and nutrition and is recognized as a leader in her field.

Be Well Wednesday: Identifying Your Avoidance Behaviors
On this week’s edition of my audio blog, I explore the role avoidance behaviors can play in our efforts to make changes and improve our health and why these behaviors creep up in the first place. I share some of my own avoidance behaviors and invite you to examine what some of yours are.
You can listen in below, or you can download the audio to your MP3 player by clicking here.
I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know what avoidance behaviors you have noticed yourself engaging in on a regular basis.
Be Well Wednesday: It’s Time to Work that NO Muscle!
We all only have so much time and energy on any given day. In order to say YES to our own health and well-being, it is essential that we say no to other requests and demands for our time and attention.
This is a challenging task for many women, and in February’s issue of “O Magazine” Oprah shares more about her own journey with saying no in order to say yes to taking better care of herself on a daily basis (last page of the magazine). If you struggle with saying no in your life, you’re certainly in good company. And I love this line from Oprah:
“Making a priority of taking care of myself is – for sure – going to make for a better me.”
Listen in to today’s audio blog to hear more about how you can become more comfortable using the word no.
What will you say no to today, in order to say yes to you? Please share by leaving a comment.
Be Well Wednesday: ‘Tis the Season to Celebrate…YOU
On today’s audio blog I focus on celebrating who you are and extending to yourself – on a regular basis – the appreciation of which you are so deserving. As women appreciating others seems to come easily and naturally; however, when it comes to appreciating ourselves it seems to be a whole different story.
Tune in to hear more about the role that self-appreciation can play in your own life. You can listen in on the player below or download the episode by clicking here.
What is something about yourself that you appreciate? Please leave a comment and share that.
